Prandelli Prepares Italy for Euro 2012
As of July 1, 2010, Cesare Prandelli became the new coach for Italy replaced Marcelo Lippi. Former coach of Fiorentina’s first task was to build morale and commitment of foster children to face the Euro 2012 qualifiers. Previously, Prandelli wants to express his respect for the successors, Marcello Lippi, who has left the task to build La Nazionale for some time to come.
“The respect I gave Marcello Lippi’s because a big change for the national team and a strong mentality in the players,” said Prandelli, who had once coached a club outside of Serie A.
“Coaching La Nazionale is the highest point in my career. Once again, I would like to thank Giancarlo Abete and the staff of the FIGC who have entrusted this responsibility on me. It’s a lot of trouble, but I want to start with a sense of optimism and humility,” he explained.
“I’m sure there are a myriad of Italian players of quality and is my duty to show the football world. The important thing is not in a hurry and know exactly how to plan things well,” said Prandelli.
Former Juventus player who gives the title to The Mistress Large Scudetto in 1981, 1982, and in 1984 it claimed to have pocketed a number of name players to be included in Italy squad ahead of Euro 2012 qualifiers.
“I hope all the players who are called to understand that they do not represent themselves but their country,” he said.
Several names have already been mentioned by Prandelli earlier. The goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon was appointed as captain of the Azzuri. In addition, the 52-year-old coach will also call Mario Balotelli and Antonio Cassano left by Lippi.
