PostHeaderIcon Ghana Eliminated Uruguay on Penalties

Uruguay end the dream of Ghana to become the first African team in the World Cup semi-final when they won 4-2 through penalties after their quarterfinal match ended 1-1 in extra time, Friday.

Uruguayan substitute Sebastian Abreu in the penalty shoot a decisive victory after goalkeeper Richard Kingson to conquer and Uruguay advanced to the semifinals to face the Dutch, who surprisingly beat Brazil 2-1.

Both teams continued to play a draw after extra time in a game ball after a thrilling penalty shoot-Asamoah Gyan hit the crossbar in the second minute of time added, because the striker Luis Suarez hold the ball at the goal line and removed from the game field.

Ghana superior speculation beforehand thanks to Sulley Muntari shot moments before the first round was over normally but then equated by Diego Forlan through a free kick 10 minutes into the second round begins.

Ghana struggled to become the first African team to advance to the semifinals, while two-time champion Uruguay tried to reach the last four for the first time in 40 years.
